Oliver is a BHS accredited instructor who spent his formative years of riding in Australia under the direction and guidance of coaches who instilled in him a strong passion and disciplined, classical approach to training and learning in equitation which he has carried intocurrent training and riding. Oliver competed successfully with a number of horses through to “A grade”(EA) in Australia until the mid 1990’s when he left to compete in the United Kingdom. There, he rode professionally in show jumping, gaining a wide experience in the training and competition of young horses through to top level international mounts in the disciplines of both dressage and showjumping. During his time in the United Kingdom Oliver also spent time producing young horses for the highly competitive Hunter Equitation market in America and produced young horses which went on to be ridden to international success.
Since returning to Australia he is gaining recognition and a reputation for his systematic but fresh approach to the gymnastic development of the horse.
His training is firmly grounded in the principles of classical equitation and currently trains under the direct guidance of Major Miguel Tavora (Master of Equitation at the Portuguese School of Equestrian Art [MAFFRA])

Oliver and his wife Amber run a small private equestrian establishment in the Pentland Hills, and currently have a range of horses in training from talented young horses, to a couple of horses currently at medium level and one currently competing in Small Tour FEI and who they hope in the not-too-distant future will provide Amber’s next Grand Prix horse and if successful will be the second Grand Prix level horse to have been trained all the way through by them as a partnership.
